Poznań | 4th Tromboholizm – Poznań Trombone Music Festival

TromboholizmTromboholizm – Poznań Trombone Music Festival is a unique event on the map of Poznań, which brings together trombonists from all over Poland and Europe. The 4th edtition of the Festival will be held on 22-25 October 2021, featuring concerts, lectures and master classes conducted by outstanding trombonists from around the world.

The special guests of this year's edition will be: Piotr Banyś, György Gyivicsan, Thomas Leyendecker, Maciej Łakomy, Michał Mazurkiewicz, Grzegorz Nagórski, Piotr Nobik, Zbigniew Starosta, Mateusz Wesołowski, Robert Żelazko and the trombone quartet TrombQuartet.

Concerts at the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań and the M. Karłowicz Secondary Music School in Poznań will be performed by: Wojciech Jeliński – the originator and artistic director of Tromboholism, the TrombQuartet, lecturers of master classes, teachers and students of trombone classes from Budapest, Leipzig, Łódź, Katowice and Poznań. We will hear pieces arranged for trombone and originally written for this instrument, including by Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska.

Lectures will be given on the "Instument Care" (Tomasz Zabor, Mathias Wiedmann), "Mouthpiece in the process of creating sound" (Maciej Łakomy), "Trombonist – a celebrity at the Viennese court" (Mateusz Wesołowski) and "A training ground on a spirometer" (Zbigniew Starosta).

The organizer of Tromboholizm is the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, and the co-organizer is the Świat Możliwości Foundation. The festival was co-financed by the Poznań City Hall.
