Cracow, Łomża | 'Polish Music Scene': Jakub Jakowicz and Łukasz Chrzęszczyk

POLMICViolinist Jakub Jakowicz and pianist Łukasz Chrzęszczyk will perform as part of the ‘Polish Music Scene’ programme co-organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance and Philharmonics throughout Poland. The concerts will take place on the 19th of June, 2022 at 7 p.m. at the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Cracow and on the 22nd of June at 6.30 p.m. at the Witold Lutosławski Chamber Philharmonic in Łomża.

The concert programme includes works by four composers representing the first two generations of Polish composers born in the 20th century: the older ones Artur Malawski (1904-1957) and Grażyna Bacewicz (1909-1969), and two peers - Henryk Mikołaj Górecki (1933-2010) and Krzysztof Penderecki (1933–2020). They are all linked by over two decades of sharing a common reality, which is full of extremely significant events and leaves an indisputable mark on the way we perceive the world.

The aim of the ‘Polish Music Scene’ programme is to promote Polish artists, as well as Polish composers, especially those less present in concert practice.
