Wejherowo | 2nd ArteFonie Music Festival

POLMICMedia patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC

The Association of Young Artists of the Wejherowo Region and the Vocal Group Art'n'Voices would like to invite you to Wejherowo to the second edition of the ArteFonie Music Festival, which will take place on September 8-11, 2022.

ArteFonie is an exceptional musical stop on the map of northern Poland.  It is the point where different visions of musical art collide.  Its idea is to present a wide spectrum of genres such as jazz, early, organ, chamber and ambient music.

The Festival will open on the 8th of  September at the Kashubian Philharmonic with a concert of Leszek Możdżer. The pianist will be accompanied by the Art'n'Voices Vocal Ensemble (vocal octet from Wejherowo, winner of the 2021 Fryderyk Music Award).

The list of concerts for the following days:

 - "In the Sacred Space" (Bogdan Narloch - organ, Sławomir Bronk - countertenor, Marcin Armański - positive organ, virginal);

 - "Chamber Saturday" (Karol Lipiński-Brańka - violin, Piotr Rojek - organ);

 - "Signal-To-Noise Ratio" (Wojciech Wilk - electronics);

 - "Jazz debuts - Insight" (Anna Jopek - piano, Jakub Klemensiewicz - soprano saxophone, clarinet).

Additionally, as part of the Festival, Jakub Wasilewski will present his paintings, and taper workshops conducted by Anna Rocławska-Musiałczyk will also take place, thanks to which participants will be able to feel like a pianist from the silent cinema.  Admission to all events is free!

The organizers would also like to encourage composers to take part in the 2nd edition of the composers' competition for a choral piece a cappella or with piano accompaniment - to a text of a selected Polish poet.  Competition works can be submitted until the 20th of July, 2022.

The ArteFonie Festival is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the "Music" programme carried out by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
