16th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition will take place in Poznań on October 7–21, 2022. The Orchestra of the National Philharmonic conducted by Andrzej Boreyko and violinist Veriko Tchumburidze will perform during the inaugural concert. Tickets are on sale now.
Together with the winner of the last competition, the Orchestra will perform the Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 53 by Antonin Dvořák and the Mieczysław Karłowicz ‘Rebirth’ Symphony in E minor, Op. 7. On Andrzej Boreyko's initiative, the programme of the concert will also include a work ‘Nova’ by Ukrainian composer Victoria Poleva, as an expression of the competition's solidarity with the Ukrainian nation, so severely affected by Russian military aggression.
16th International Violin Competition Henryk Wieniawski is co-organized with the National Institute of Music and Dance from the funds of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
