polmicOn the 23rd of November, 2022 at 7.30 p.m., as part of the new concert series ‘Pianissimo, music by Andrzej Nikodemowicz, interpreted by pianist Piotr Banasik, will be performed in the NOSPR hall in Katowice.

‘Pianissimo’ is a proposition for those intimidated by strong light, loud conversations and noise; for those who feel bad in the crowd. It is a safe space for people with high sensory sensitivity who cannot or do not like to sit still for too long. In this series of concerts meditative Polish, French and German music will be presented.

Andrzej Nikodemowicz is a composer, pianist and teacher born in Lviv. His biography reflects the turbulent vicissitudes of the 20th century. The drama of the war, problems with Soviet censorship and finally emigration to Lublin. He mainly composed sacred music, finding in religion the only constant value in a changing world. During the upcoming concert, his Meditations No. 2 and 3, Op. 83, 6 Meditations for piano and Lullaby No. 2 will be performed.

Piotr Banasik will also perform 3 Gymnopédies by Erik Sati and works by Johann Sebastian Bach in transcriptions by Ferruccio Busoni and Myra Hess.
