Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC
On the 29th of November, 2022, Michał Dobrzyński's operaTango based on the drama by Sławomir Mrożek will be performed by the ensemble of the Warsaw Chamber Opera and the Cracow Opera Orchestra conducted by Piotr Sułkowski. It will be its 13th performance, this time as part of the 9th Days of Polish Culture in Vilnius.
The opera was created in 2017 as part of the ‘Composers' Commissions’ programme of the Narodowy Instytut Muzyki i Tańca commissioned by the Warsaw Chamber Opera. The work was performed by the Warsaw Chamber Opera directed by Alicja Węgorzewska-Whiskerd. The opera was also staged at the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, the Estonian National Opera, and the Cracow Opera.
