Warsaw | POLIN Music Festival 2023

POLIN MUSIC 23

On February 24-26, 2023, the POLIN Music Festival 2023 will take place at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. David Krakauer, Michael Guttman, Jing Zhao, Alexey Botvinov, the Silesian Quartet, Bastarda Trio and orchestras: Sinfonia Varsovia and the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw will perform at the Festival.

Polish music will sound on the 25th and 26th of February. The second day of POLIN Music Festival will be an evening of album premieres. The Silesian Quartet, the second quartet in the history of phonography, recorded all 17 string quartets by Mieczysław Weinberg. This impressive seven-disc box, released by CD Accord, will have its concert premiere at the POLIN Music Festival. The second premiere box of the evening will be the three-disc release ‘Nizozot’ by the Bastarda trio (published by Audiocave).

The music of the recognized Polish-Jewish-American composer Karol Rathaus will be presented by the pianist and chamber musician Aleksandra Hałat and the Karol Rathaus Ensemble established by her. In 2021, the ensemble premiere released recording of two piano trios by Karol Rathaus, which the artists will present during the concert, performing them from the composer's manuscript.
