Sinfonietta No. 2 of Maciej Bałenkowski on the programme of the TUTTI New Arts Festival in Ohio!

TuttiFestival 21 3 24On the 21st of March 2024 at 7.30 p.m., Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts in Granville (Ohio) will present Sinfonietta No. 2 'Polonia' - homage à Wojciech Kilar by Maciej Bałenkowski for string orchestra as part of the TUTTI New Arts Festival 2024. The performers will be the musicians of the Denison University Symphony Orchestra conducted by Philip Rudd.

The concert programme will also include works by the festival's special guest, Pulitzer Prize winner Raven Chacon, as well as Douglas Hedwig and Jeremy Kittel.
Maciej Bałenkowski's participation in the event is co-financed by the "Polish Culture in the World" programme of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute

Polish music in the USA – Polish Music on Stage / US edition: Freszel Duo

FreszelDuo 1 12 23On December 3-7, 2023, Freszel Duo will perform concerts on the West Coast of the United States. The artists' performances will take place as part of the Polish Music on Stage/ US Edition project conducted by the National Institute of Music and Dance from 2022.

The artists will begin their American tour with a concert on the 1st of December at the West Charleston Library in Las Vegas. On the 3rd of December 3, they will play at the Holocaust Museum in Las Vegas, on the 5th of December at the Polish House in Seattle, and on the 7th of December at the Steinway Gallery in San Francisco.

Brazil | Cracow Duo: Kalinowski & Szlezer

FestivaldeMusicaPolonesa 23Jan Kalinowski and Marek Szlezer will be the artists of the 5th Festival of Polish Music in Campinas. The ensemble will also perform in São Paulo, and together with Camerata Florianópolis at the Teatro Ademir Rosa - CIC in Florianópolis between April 26 - May 2, 2023.

On the 26th of April in São Paulo, the three-day Festival of Polish Music will begin, which will take place at the Institute of Arts of the Universidade Estadual de Campinas, one of the most respected universities in Latin America, commonly known as Unicamp.

Compositions by Fryderyk Chopin, Ludomir Różycki, Aleksander Tansman or Krzysztof Penderecki will be performed during the festival. Brazilian audience will also have the opportunity to listen to works by contemporary composers, including Krzesimir Dębski, Marcel Chyrzyński, Krzysztof Meyer, Marta Ptaszyńska or Wojciech Widłak and see that Polish music offers a real wealth of styles and genres. As part of the festival, the premiere of Jarosław Płonka's newest work will also take place.

Padua | Copernicus 2023 – proMODERN sextet concert in Padua

Copernicus - koncert sekstetu ProModern

The proMODERN contemporary music vocal sextet will present the ‘Copernicus 2023’ music program in Padua. On Independence Day – the 11th of November, 2023 - the sextet will perform in the Hall of Giants of Palazzo Liviano together with Concentus Musics Patavinus.

The special programme for the Year of Copernicus ‘Copernicus’ opens with early a cappella works, musically illustrating the places where Nicolaus Copernicus lived and worked. There will be songs related to Toruń, the hometown of the Polish astronomer (by Piotr from Grudziądz), to Cracow, where he undertook his first studies and obtained canonical ordination (compositions by Mikołaj of Cracow and Sebastian of Felsztyn), to the Italian cities of Padua and Bologna, where he completed his education (works by Bartolomeo Tromboncino and Gaspar van der Weerbeke) and finally with the Warmian cities of Lidzbark, Olsztyn and Frombork, where he was active scientifically and administratively (music by Hainrich Isaac, Ludwig Senfl and Pierre de la Rue).

Las Vegas | 'Polish Music on Stage': Polish Violin Duo

PolishViolin 10.12.22 prYoung artists - winners of the 1st and 2nd editions of the International Polish Music Competition - will perform on the 10th of December 10, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at the West Charleston Library in Las Vegas during their US tournée. It comes as part of the ‘Polish Music on Stage / US edition’ project organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance within the Inspiring Culture programme.

Polish Violin Duo consists of two charismatic musicians - Marta Gidaszewska and Robert Łaguniak, whose stage energy is perfectly intertwined with musical sensitivity. Each concert of the duo is unique, it allows you to discover and savor chamber music for two violins - a cast so rarely presented on stages.

During the upcoming concert, they will present the works of Grażyna Bacewicz, Anna Rocławska-Musiałczyk, Henryk Wieniawski, Mieczysław Wajnberg, Romuald Twardowski and Henryk Wieniawski.
