"Don't be afraid to improvise" – online concert with Jarosław Siwiński and Grzegorz Ociepka

Art DecoOnline broadcast of the fifth concert summarizing the online workshops for young musicians "Don't be afraid to improvise!", organised by the Art Deco Group Music Agency, will be held on 10 October 2020 at 11.30 and 13.30 p.m. This time, we will hear the results of classes conducted by composer and pianist Jarosław Siwiński and actor and director of plays for children Grzegorz Ociepka.

The workshops are free of charge and are intended for children learning to sing or play any instruments at music schools or institutions that conduct music classes. During the workshops, children learn about contemporary music and methods of improvisation and they take part in exercises and games that will help them absorb the knowledge more easily. In this project, it is very important to make music together and collaborate in a group, so children participate in classes with their instruments and actively improvise under the guidance of the teachers.

During the upcoming concert, which will be broadcast live from the Warsaw Quality Studio in cooperation with Rec Audio, everyone will meet live for the first time and make music together.

Co-financed by the National Centre for Culture as part of the "Culture on the Web" programme.

Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC.

The concert will be available online atwww.artdecogroup.eu and www.facebook.com/adgagencja

SMYKcheck – educational platform

SMYKcheck

SMYKcheck is a new free educational platform aimed at the youngest violinists and their teachers.

On the website www.smykcheck.pl you can download free sheet music for solo violin that uses non-standard performance techniques as well as films presenting performance issues and recordings.

Through innovative compositional solutions, the series of works introduces young performers to the world of interesting sounds and new possibilities of violin performance, at the same time developing their acquired skills.

Works written by violinist Sara Rajewska-Syska are an interesting supplement to the rich violin repertoire, supporting the development of the youngest performers interested in contemporary music. The series was inspired by the works of outstanding Polish composers: Witold Lutosławski and Krzysztof Penderecki.

The project was carried out as part of the scholarship programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage "Culture on the Web".

2nd Sonikalia Sound Festival for Children

Sonikalia

Wytwórnia Zdarzeń Sonokinetycznych [Sonokinetic Event Factory] invites you to the Sonikalia Sound Festival for Children, which will be held on 1-4 October 2020 in Olsztyn and Szczytno.

What are 'Sonikalia'? ... A collection of sound events going on here and there, linked by at least one goal – awakening interest in sounds. The organisers look for this interest primarily among children, but since all (sic!) art recipients should be treated equally and we should avoid "infantilization", the Sonikalia events can also arouse curiosity of adults. The Festival will present various functions of sound as a component of a musical work.

When selecting Sonikalia events, great emphasis is placed on their interactivity. The programme proposals are selected in such a way as to ensure maximum active participation of children in all artistic activities (concerts with the participation of the audience, improvisations, interactive installations and interactive lectures, shows, performances). It is also important to add the element of fun. The festival will feature improvisation workshops for children "Tell me a story", led by Trillingen Duo (Iwona Jędruch and Małgorzata Kołcz), flautist Karina Kusior and composer Jarosław Siwiński.

Admission to all festival events is free!
