Suwałki | 3rd WigroSfera

POLMICMedia patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC.

The "WigroSfera" festival is a sound response to the natural human need for being a part of nature and culture. This is an extraordinary event, one of a kind, combining high culture with the beauty and tourist values ​​of the Suwałki Region. The third edition of the festival will be held on the 15th and 16th of July, 2022 in the Wigry National Park and in Suwałki.

The events will be available both to the audience on site and, thanks to high-quality live audio-video transmission, also on the Internet. The main stage will be located on the PTTK beach in Stary Folwark overlooking one of the most beautiful Polish lakes - Wigry. In the city of Suwałki, concerts will take place in the concert hall of the Suwałki Cultural Center.

The artistic idea of the Festival is to present the most creative Polish artists who combine the tradition of classical music with technological innovations. During the two days of events, six concerts will be held and an installation by Aleksandra Hewelt will be presented: the audience during the concert at Lake Wigry will also be able to experience a visual-audio collage on 18 analog TV sets with 18 DVD players and a digital projector.

Warsaw | Noskowski. Concert with Maestro Antoni Wit

An important element of the mission of the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra is the restitution of forgotten masterpieces of Polish music in concert practice, and the concert on the 30th of July, 2022 at 19.00 conducted by Antoni Wit at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio in Warsaw will be an important step in bringing back Zygmunt Noskowski to his rightful place among the outstanding Polish and European composers of the second half of the 19th century. 

At the beginning of the 21st  century, the music of Zygmunt Noskowski slowly began to return to concert stages, and the first editions of his previously unpublished works, such as String Quartets No. 2 and 3, and Symphony No. 2, also appeared.

Katowice | Movie summer with Silesian Philharmonic: Classics in the cinema

On the 8th of July, 2022 at 19.00 the Silesian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maciej Tomasiewicz invites you to an evening filled with great hits of classical music - and not only! Lovers of opera, waltzes, film and popular music will surely find something for themselves. All the works on this evening's programme will have one thing in common: cinema. 

We will hear both works that were created for the needs of films and those that were included in the soundtrack, although they were intended to be performed on stage.

Chamber and Organ Music Festivals in Podlaskie Voivodeship: 4th „Kamedulskie Wigry” and 1st „Basilica Augustoviensis”

The JAX Association invites you to two summer music festivals organized in the Podlaskie Voivodeship: the 4th Festival of Chamber and Organ Music "Kamedulskie Wigry" (July 3 - October 23, 2022) and the 1st Festival of Organ and Chamber Music "Basilica Augustoviensis" (3, 24, 31 July and August 28, 2022).

There are ten concerts ahead of us with the participation of the best organists and outstanding soloists, as well as the "Organum Mundi" conference devoted to the history of organ building. Admission to all concerts is free!

Wejherowo | 2nd ArteFonie Music Festival

The Association of Young Artists of the Wejherowo Region and the Vocal Group Art'n'Voices would like to invite you to Wejherowo to the second edition of the ArteFonie Music Festival, which will take place on September 8-11, 2022.

ArteFonie is an exceptional musical stop on the map of northern Poland.  It is the point where different visions of musical art collide.  Its idea is to present a wide spectrum of genres such as jazz, early, organ, chamber and ambient music.

The Festival will open on the 8th of  September at the Kashubian Philharmonic with a concert of Leszek Możdżer. The pianist will be accompanied by the Art'n'Voices Vocal Ensemble (vocal octet from Wejherowo, winner of the 2021 Fryderyk Music Award).

Lusławice | 10th 'Emanations' Festival

The 10th edition of the Emanations Festival will take place between the 2nd of July and 27th of August and will feature symphonic concerts, recitals introducing the young generation of musicians, chamber concerts in the most beautiful places of the Małopolska region and outdoor events set in the magical scenery of the Lusławice Arboretum.

The anniversary edition of the Festival will present the very essence of its unique character and unconventional programme that have been characteristic of the Festival for a decade now.
The Emanations festival will traditionally be hosted by Lusławice, inviting music lovers and guests to attend concerts held at the excellent concert hall, to visit the beautiful manor and park complex and enjoy time spent at the summer café.

Korzkiew | 10th Summer Music Festival ‘Muzyczna Korzkiew’

polmicThe tenth jubilee edition of the Summer Music Festival ‘Muzyczna Korzkiew’ will take place every Sunday of July and August at 5.15 p.m. in the historic Nativity of St. John the Baptist Church in Korzkiew. The Festival is a series of artistic events that play an important role in the cultural life in the region of Kraków-Częstochowa Jura, which include weekly concerts, as well as meetings with artists and culture animators.

The Festival, since 2011, has been organized by the ‘Muzyczna Korzkiew’ Association, whose activity is based on enabling closer contact with high-class music artists and animation in music and cultural activities in the nearby area. In addition, the Association tries to help young artists - winners of music competitions, enabling them to perform and promote themselves at the Festival during specially dedicated concerts on the 14th and 15th of August.

Nowy Sącz, Łącko | 8th Małopolska Academy of Talents

The Małopolska Academy of Talents will visit the region for the eighth time. The concerts will take place in Nowy Sącz and Łąck in Małopolska from June 22 - July 2, 2022. Admission to all concerts is free. Let's start the summer with classical music!

The inauguration of this year's edition of the Małopolska Academy of Talents will take place in the Mała Galeria in Nowy Sącz on the 22nd of June at 6 p.m. Pianist Karina Vorobey and cellist Valentyna Czekamova will perform works by Franz Liszt, Adam Walaciński and Andrzej Sztogarienko. A few days later, on the 26th of June at 7 p.m. music courses will start.

The next concerts in Łąck will take place every evening at 6:45 p.m.

Katowice | Movie summer with Silesian Philharmonic: Movies for voices

We invite you to the July concerts at the Silesian Philharmonic, during which you will hear music known from the big screen, including works by Wojciech Kilar. On the 1st of July, 2022 at 7.00 p.m. the Silesian Philharmonic Choir, conducted by Jarosław Wolanin, will host an evening full of film music. The solo parts during the concert inaugurating this summer concert series will be performed by Robert Czmok (saxophone) and Adam Eibin (piano).

The programme of the concert will be filled with songs from the movies. It will be an opportunity to listen to works created for the needs of such images, such as the Les choristes, Just Like Heaven, Amadeus and films from the James Bond series. What's more, musicians will perform works that were created with concert performance in mind, but turned out to be an inspiration for many directors and appeared many times in films.

Cracow | Concert of the laureate of the Carl Nielsen Competition: Sinfonietta Cracovia and Bohdan Luts

polmicAs part of cooperation with the International Carl Nielsen Competition Sinfonietta Cracovia invited a 17-year-old violinist from Lviv and the winner of the last edition of the Competition, Bohdan Luts, to a concert on the 2nd of July, 2022 at 7.00 p.m. at the Gallery of 19th-Century Polish Art in Sukiennice. The programme of the concert will combine classical compositions by Mozart with Krzysztof Penderecki's Leaves of an unwritten diary.

The International Carl Nielsen Competition is a recognized event taking place in Odense, Carl Nielsen's city of birth, Denmark. In 2022, the jury distinguished few soloists from among 72 participants.

The Lviv virtuoso will perform in a branch of the National Museum in Cracow with the Sinfonietta Cracovia lead by Jurek Dybał.

Toruń | 26th International Festival 'Nova Music and Architecture'

The main idea of ​​the 26th International Nova Music and Architecture Festival, which will take place between the 24th of June and the 27th of August, 2022, is traditionally presenting classical music in the historic and modern interiors of Toruń. This year, 16 events will take place at the Artus Court, the Old Town Hall, the churches of St. James, St. Stephen and the Holy Spirit and in CKK Jordanki and 4 - in the online space. Artists from Spain, Korea, Finland and Lithuania will participate in the events.

The Festival will include symphonic, chamber and popular music concerts with the participation of top-class musicians. During the Festival the Toruń Symphony Orchestra will perform five times, presenting both great hits of classical music (works by J. S. Bach, W. A. ​​Mozart, L. van Beethoven, G. Bizet, E. Grieg) as well as popular music (film music of the Golden Age of Hollywood, Balkan music and klezmer with the Klezmafour band, Polish popular music, including A. Zaucha, Z. Wodecki, G. Ciechowski, the bands Perfect, Kombi, with Jacek and Patrycja Kotlarscy).

Cracow | Concert promoting the album 'Sinfonietta per Sinfonietta'

On the 30th of June, 2022 at 7 p.m. music from the album Sinfonietta per Sinfonietta will come to life at the Manggha Museum in Cracow. This is a summary of six years of the International Composers Competition under the honorary patronage of Krzysztof Penderecki.

In the years 2015–2020, the jury composed of experts (including Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa and Zygmunt Konieczny) selected the most interesting compositions for a string orchestra from among dozens of submissions. In 2022, the Recart publishing house released an album with the same title: Sinfonietta per Sinfonietta.

Elbląg | Elbląg Music Masterclass. The biggest summer festival of string music (and more) of northern Poland

Elbląg Music Masterclass was created for young musicians who want to develop their skills under the supervision of outstanding instrumentalists and educators from Poland and abroad.

During the 10 days of July (01.07-10.07.2022), a number of various events will be organized, tailored specifically to the needs of students of music schools of the first and second degree, students and graduates of music academies. The participants will take part in courses, workshops and lectures. They will perform during recitals and concerts. EMM provides young musicians with a prestigious start to their individual musical activity and the opportunity to present their skills to a wide audience.

Polish Music Information Center POLMIC is the founder of the prizes for the participants. Co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

Katowice | 100th anniversary of joining part of Upper Silesia to Poland, 'Silesian Poem-Korfanty"

On the 20th of June, 2022 at 7.00 p.m., on the day when we will celebrate the National Day of Silesian Uprisings for the first time, the Silesian Philharmonic will premiere the Silesian Poem - Korfanty - a word-music piece in five parts based on the texts of Wojciech Korfanty, written by Wacław Golonka, who will also perform on the organ.

Others musicians will be: Grażyna Jursza (flute), Marek Miś (clarinet), Szymon Gaudyn (trumpet), Leszek Salwa (French horn), Grzegorz Kurowski (trombone), Małgorzata Szymecka (drums) and actor Dariusz Niebudek. The concert will be combined with a film screening and the possibility of visiting the exhibition, made available by the Silesian Uprisings Museum in Świętochłowice.

The piece itself was created in 2021 as part of the scholarship of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship. It is based on the texts of Wojciech Korfanty, which deal with the subject of the independence of Silesia and its belonging to Poland.
