The 2nd "Music in Blumwe Villa" Festival will take place between 20 June and 12 December 2019 in Bydgoszcz.
The festival is a joint initiative of the Piotr Orawski Foundation and Polish Radio of Pomerania and Kuyavia Regions with the office in Bydgoszcz. The aim of the project is to expand the region's cultural offer, promote composers and artists of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodship and bring high culture to local audiences.
The inauguration concert will feature The scores for animal voices (Partytury na Głosy Zwierzęce) by Marcin Gumiela. Semper nella memoria di Marianna by the same composer will be presented on 24 October by the piano duet Pianopticum. During the concert on 28 November titled "Bach's consersations with contemporaneity", in addition to Bach's music we will listen to works by Witold Lutosławski and Krzysztof Penderecki. The finale of the Festival will be a vocal recital "In tribute to Stanisław Moniuszko": Karolina Makuła (mezzo-soprano) and Jarosław Kaliski (piano) will perform music of the patron of 2019 as well as compositions by Mieczysław Weinberg, who would celebrate the 100th birthday.
All concerts will be recorded and retransmitted on Mondays after the PIK Radio's "Classic Salon" programme at 9:06pm.
