The subject of the 6th Grażyna Bacewicz International Composer Competition is a work for na orkiestrę symfoniczną lub for symphony orchestra or organ and symphony orchestra.

This year the jury is composed of:: Zygmunt Krauze (Poland) – Chairman, Paweł Przytocki (Poland), Dan Dediu (Romania) oraz Joel Hoffman (USA). The jury will award three prizes: 1st Prize: PLN 21.750, 2nd Prize: PLN 13.050, 3rd Prize: PLN 8,750.

The scores should be submitted until the August 20th, 2019. The prize winners’ concert will be held on November 29th, 2019 at the Arthur Rubinstein Lodz Philharmonic.. The piece that will get the third prize will be performed during the Musica Moderna session, organized by the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz.

The Competition is organized by the Chair of Composition of the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz and the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic in Lodz. It was held every three years: the first edition took place in 2003, second in 2006, third in 2009, fourth in 2012, fifth in 2015. Until the 2009 it was address to Polish and foreign students and graduates of music academies who were not older than 35 years. From the 4th edition it is open to composers of all nationalities with no age limits.
