Elżbieta Siczek,

conductor; b. in Lublin. She graduated in conducting from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, where she studied with Krzysztof Kusiel-Moroz. She obtained a scholarship for outstanding academic achievements from the Minister of Culture and Art.

The aritst won the 2nd prize at the 6th National Competition for Choral Conductors in Poznań (1996). She developed her skills at Summer Courses for Conductors taught by Jerzy Salwarowski in Toruń (1998, 2001). She participated in the work of the European Academy for Young Choral Conductors in Marktoberdorf (1999) and Nevers (2000), as well as the International Kodály Seminar in Kecskemet (Hungary, 2001). In 2013 she obtained a PhD in conducting on the basis of a dissertation on the polychoral works of Marian Sawa.

She has conducted several Warsaw-based choirs, including the University of Warsaw Academic Choir (1996-98), Ars Cantata Academic Chamber Choir of the Club of Catholic Intellectuals (1998-99) and the Warsaw Inter-University Choir (2010-12). Since 1995 she has directed the Canzonetta Children’s Choir of the Fryderyk Chopin Primary Music School No. 2. She is the author and co-ordinator of the "Musical Mornings" cycle held at Warsaw’s Cultural Education Centre.

Elżbieta Siczek is also the head of Camerata Varsovia, which she founded in 2000 and with which she has received numerous awards. She has conducted the choir during its foreign tours (Ukraine in 2001, Lithuania in 2002, Czech Republic in 2002, Belgium and the Netherlands in 2004). She appeared twice with Camerata Varsovia at international choral events in Italy: the 31st Incontro Internazionale Polifonico "Cittá di Fano" (2004) and the 12th Rassegna Polifonica Internazionale "Cittá di Atri" (at the invitation of Schola Cantorum A. Pacini).
