Zofia Dowgiałło-Zych,

composer and harpist; b. 30 October 1979 in Warsaw. She graduated in philosophy from the Warsaw University (2004), from the harp class of Urszula Mazurek (2005) and the composition class of Zbigniew Bagiński (2010) at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Since 2013 she is a PhD student in composition at the Academy of Music in Krakow. She participated in harp masterclasses run by such artists as Isabelle Moretti, Isabelle Perrin, Brigitte Sylvestre, Susann McDonald and Elżbieta Szmyt, as well as early music courses in Cambridge Early Music Summer School and International Early Music Summer Academy in Wilanów. She also was a student at the European Workshop for Contemporary Music in Warsaw and Berlin, and Festival junger Künstler w Bayreuth. In 2006, she was a composer-in-residence at the OMI International Arts Center in New York.

She won the 2nd Prize at the Adam Didur Competition in Sanok (2006) and the 1st prize (ex aequo) and an honourable mention at the Tadeusz Baird Competition for Young Composers (2007).

Her compositions have been performed at the International Festival of Contemporary Music "Warsaw Autumn", Warsaw Music Encounters, Festival of World Premieres in Katowice, Sinfonia Varsovia’s Musical Seasons and Summer Concerts at Grochowska Street. As a harpist, she specializes in interpreting both early and contemporary music. She collaborates with early music ensemble Meendinho and performs with flutist Anna Karpowicz in the new music duo Fl-Ar.Art. She has appeared at such festivals as "Warsaw Autumn", Sacrum Profanum, Audio Art, Laboratory of Contemporary Music, Warsaw Music Encounters, Early Music Festival at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Via Stellae Festival de Musica de Compostela e os seus Caminos in Spain, and several jazz festivals.
