viola player, pedagogue, organist and conductor; born 30th April 1954 in Warsaw. He graduated from the Józef Elsner State Secondary Music School in Warsaw in the viola class of Błażej Sroczyński (1973) and the organ class of Andrzej Chorosiński (1975). He studied in the viola class of Stefan Kamasa at the National Academy of Music in Warsaw, obtaining his masters degree in 1979. During the studies he took up conducting in Stanisław Wisłocki's class. He successfully passed the competition exam for the Department of Symphony and Opera Conducting but decided to continue his musical studies at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp in chamber music (1980-1982) and at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels in the conducting class of Guy Barbie (1986-1988). He participated in the master classes of Kurt Levin in Stockholm and Bruno Giuranna in Sienna. 

He was a permanent member of the orchestra of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association's Central Artistic Ensemble, performing throughout the country in 1971-1975. He represented Poland in the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra during the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976, performing as a soloist in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II during a solemn concert at the Olympic stadium.

He was a laureate of the National Academy of Music in Warsaw viola competition in 1979. In the years 1979-1980 he lectured at the Karol Szymanowski High Music School in Warsaw. From 1980 to 1985 he was the organist at the Polish Church in Antwerp and Ghent. He co-organized an organ concert in 1982 in Antwerp, which proceeds went to provide food aid for Poland. He participated in a charity campaign to help those in need during Martial Law in 1981-1983.

As a chamber musician, he collaborated with such orchestra's as the Warsaw National Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Karol Teutsch, the Polish Chamber Orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia under the direction of Jerzy Maksymiuk, Mark Sewen's Cappella Artsis Varsoviencis, and the Warsaw Chamber Opera ensemble.

Since 1980 he works for the Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestra in Antwerp (now Antwerp Symphony Orchestra), performing in various European countries, Canada, Japan and China. He was invited to collaborate with such renowned orchestra's as: New York Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, World Doctor Orchestra, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Orchestre Simfonica de Catalunya Barcelona, Berner Symphonieorchester, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Symphonique et Lyrique de Nancy, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, "I Fiamminghi" Belgium Chamber Orchestra, Vlamse Opera Antwerpen, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, Brussels Philharmonic, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Stuttgart Philharmonic and the Swiss orchestras "MasterPlayers" and "Il Tempo Giusto" with which he toured in 40 cities in Switzerland. In 2020 he was invited to perform with the World Doctors Orchestra in the USA (Buffalo) and Canada (Toronto).

He also collaborated with outstanding soloists, among others, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Henryk Szeryng, Leonid Kogan, Mstislav Rostropovitsch, Eugene Estomil, Alexander Lagoya, Alexis Weissenberg, Kiri Te Kanawa, Maxim Vangerov, Vadim Repin, Nicolas Znajder, Andrei Gavrilov, Lucia Popp, Christa Ludvig, Mirella Freni, Nicolas Giaurov, Klaus Maria Brandauer, Anne Sophie Mutter, Mischa Maisky, Boris Pergamenshikov, Suzanne Mildonian, Salvatore Accardo, Brunno Giuranna, Rudolf Buchbinder, Krystian Zimerman, Heinrich Schiff, Jean Pierre Rampal, Alan Marion, Augustin Dumay, Bryn Terfel, Yvri Gitlis, Martha Argerich, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Dezso Ranki, Boris Belkin, Christian Tezlaff, Piotr Paleczny.

During the concerts in St. Moritz and Pontresina in 1992-1995, he performed Mozart's Symphony Concertante K.V.365 as a soloist. From 1997 to 2001 he performed in France with the newly founded Orchestre de Solist de l'Europe, a group consisting of members of the Jurij Baschmet's Soloists of Moscow (among others A. Benderski, V. Sitkovietskij, M. Kramer, A. Sinielnikov, A. Dimitriev, L. Keylin, A. Kolodenko). In December 2009 he gave concerts with the Orquesta Filharmónica de Gran Canaria. In his 48-year musical career, he took part in over 3,900 symphonic, opera, chamber and solo concerts in Canada, Europe, Japan, South Africa, India, China, Macau, Colombia and Brazil. He participated in radio and television recording sessions for record labels (over 80 CDs) and television stations in Poland, Canada, France, Switzerland, Japan, Belgium and the Netherlands.

In 2019 Wiesław Chorosiński was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit at the meeting of President Andrzej Duda with the Polish community in Belgium.

By the decision of the Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sport of the Polish Republic of the 8th of June, 2021, Wiesław Chorosiński was honoured with the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.
