Paweł Kos-Nowicki,

conductor; born 11th March 1975 in Lublin. He is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw where he studied under professor Bogusław Madey. He also participated in conducting masterclasses with Sir Colin Davis and Jerzy Salwarowski.

He was awarded in the 3rd Witold Lutosławski National Competition For Young Conductors in Białystok and received the Minister of Culture and National Heritage scholarship.

He made his debut in 1999 in the Lublin Philharmonic Concert Hall conducting the Orchestra of the Crown Tribunal. He also has cooperated with other orchestras: the Music Academy in Warsaw, the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, the Częstochowa Philharmonic, the Płock Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra in Zamość, chamber orchestra "Academia", the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra. Since 2000 he has been the director of the New Chamber Orchestra, which was transformed into the Warsaw Camerata in 2010.

Paweł Kos-Nowicki has worked with many wonderful soloists such as: Emma Kirkby, Elizabeth Connell, Mirjam Tschopp, Michael Chance, Katarzyna Duda, Marta Boberska, Justyna Stępień, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Piotr Kusiewicz, Robert Gierlach, Wojciech Gierlach, Paweł Kowalski, Leszek Wachnik, Tytus Wojnowicz, Zbigniew Pilch and the ensemble Glass Duo.

He is an appreciated interpreter of baroque oratorios and classic masterpieces. However, he does not avoid pieces of music from other epochs, including the modern ones. He has made recordings for the Polish Radio e.g.: Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons with Katarzyna Duda, Georg Friedrich Handel’s Messiah oratorio with Emma Kirkby and Michael Chance, Piano Concerto by Ferdinand Ries. He has also conducted the first performances of several pieces by both Polish and foreign composers such as Joanna BruzdowiczPiotr Moss, Romuald Twardowski, Marek Żebrowski, Jarosław Siwiński, Ryszard Osada, Adrian Williams, and Jonathan Dawe.

He is also an animator of culture. He was organizing concerts of the New Chamber Orchestra for the youngest in cooperation with the local authorities since 2003. In 2013-2016, he was a member of the Programme Board of the Warsaw's Cultural Education Programme. In 2016, he was appointed by the President of the Capital City of Warsaw as a member of the Social Council of Culture of the second term. He is also a member of the board of the New Chamber Orchestra Foundation.
