On the 29th of September, 2023 at 7 p.m. a unique work will be performed. The 72nd season will open with the Overture from the opera The Sacrifice of Abraham, followed by Ludomir Różycki's Violin Concerto, interpreted by the recognized violinist Janusz Wawrowski.

The Sacrifice of Abraham is one of two works on biblical themes (along with the unpreserved Judgment of Solomon) and the only melodrama in Elsner's oeuvre. The piece will be presented by the Opole Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Przemysław Neumann.

Violin Concerto (1944) by Ludomir Różycki is the last opus in life of the creator of the Polish national ballet. The latest reconstruction of the work will be performed in Opole, in which Ryszard Bryła used not only the preserved piano reduction, but also included - previously considered lost - fragments of the score's manuscripts along with the composer's instrumentation instructions.
