Commemorating the events that took place 84 years ago, the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir conducted by Bartosz Michałowski will pay tribute to the victims of World War II. The first of the concerts as part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir ‘Dona Nobis Pacem’ will take place in the Evangelical-Augsburg Church of the Holy Trinity in Warsaw on the 1st of September, 2023 at 19.00. Admission free!
The ‘Dona Nobis Pacem’ programme was prepared as an artistic response to the events we have been witnessing since the 24th of February, 2022. This date became a turning point that destroyed the sense of stability and security of the modern world.
The repertoire of the concert is a musical call for peace expressed in the music of Polish, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian composers. We will hear, among others Beatus vir by Łukasz Urbaniak and Sanctus (a prayer of gratitude) by Michał Ziółkowski.
