polmicMedia patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC

In the project 'Three Musical Faces of Faith - Sacred Music of Christian Currents', the Institute for the Development of Art draws attention primarily to the great achievements of Polish composers in the field of sacred music

Act on the Rights of a Professional Artist - call of the creative environments

POLMICAs part of the ‘Professional Artist’ campaign, the Association of Polish Artists Musicians promotes the signing of support for the Act on the Rights of a Professional Artist. It is an act co-created and accepted by a wide community of artists (artists, actors, directors, dancers, musicians, etc.). On the 5th of May, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage directed the draft of the act to inter-ministerial and public consultations.

The purpose of the Act on the Rights of a Professional Artist is to improve the living conditions of artists in Poland, incl. by making it easier for them to use social and health insurance. The draft of the act was created as a result of many years of efforts by organizations representing cultural creators from all fields, which were a consequence of the debate initiated in 2017 by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the National Conference of Culture (OKK).

The costs of the proposed solutions will not be borne by the taxpayer, as they will be financed from the revenues from the reprographic fee and the fee on blank media (the so-called compensation for fair culture) paid by manufacturers and importers of electronic equipment.
