Anders Hjelmtorp
is the Executive Director of Export Music Sweden as from June 29, 2005. He has a very solid background in the music business in which he has been working most of his active business life. He started as Product Manager at CBS Records in 1978, working with acts like The Clash, Julio Iglesias, Bruce Springsteen, Toto, Boney M, Mireille Mathieu and many other international stars. In 1983 he was offered the chance to establish Virgin Records & Publishing in the Nordic countries by Richard Branson and Ken Berry. Four different companies, four different sales & distribution partners were quickly up and running successfully. During this period Anders had the privilege to work with such great acts like Lenny Kravitz, Janet Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Simple Minds, Gary Moore and many more international artists. Anders stayed at Virgin as its CEO till 2000. During this period he also was the founder of EVA Records (the "Absolute Music" compilation joint/venture) and was a board member there 1987-2000. He was also a board member of IFPI Swedish Group 1986-2000. In 2000 Anders Hjelmtorp was a co-founder of digital music video distribution company Musicbrigade. Today Musicbrigade is one of the leading companies in digital music distribution in Europe and the company is first in Europe to sell videos from both major and independent companies over the 3G net.
