Kielce | Stage for Polish Music

FS

On 17 December 2019 at 6.30 p.m. the Oskar Kolberg Świętokrzyska Philharmonic will host a chamber concert as part of the Institute of Music and Dance programme "Stage for Polish Music".

"Stage for Polish Music" is a new programme of the Institute of Music and Dance for Polish musicians, implemented in cooperation with the National Philharmonic and artistic institutions in the country. Programmes composed of Polish works selected in the competition procedure are presented in the National Philharmonic Chamber Hall and repeated in other cities in Poland, including Kielce.

The repertoire of the upcoming concert includes 20th-century Polish vocal lyrics performed by the duo: soprano Joanna Freszel and pianist Łukasz Chrzęszczyk. Fragments of three opuses by Karol Szymanowski will be juxtaposed with the song cycles by Jerzy Lefeld, Zygmunt Mycielski and Szymon Laks, as well as a selection of songs by this year's jubilarian – Grażyna Bacewicz. The key to this programme lies in diversity, both in the sphere of sound and word. The artists recorded many of these songs on the album Śpiewnik polski, released by Orphée Classics.
