On the 18th of March 2022 during a concert at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago the world-famous Polish composer, percussionist and teacher Marta Ptaszyńska was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland for outstanding achievements in the field of composition!
During the concert in Chicago, The Zafa Collective group presented composer’s chamber works: Red Rays, White Shadows, Graffito, Lullaby for Benjamin, The Gates of Light and Sappho Songs. Consul Małgorzata Bąk-Guzik on behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, awarded the artist with the Commander's Cross. After the official ceremony a meeting with the composer took place.
