Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC
On the 15th of December, 2023 at 19.00 Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yaroslav Shemet will perform works by Karol Szymanowski, Antonín Dvořák and Johannes Brahms related to traditional dance melodies. What's more, together with the recognized pianist Piotr Sałajczyk, the Philharmonic will premiere Aleksander Nowak's Piano Concerto.
In recent years, the composer has been most eager to explore the area of opera and musical drama, but he also often uses concert forms of various types and sizes written for outstanding soloists. This time we will hear Concerto per mezzo for piano and orchestra, commissioned by the Silesian Philharmonic.
