Szczecinska Ewa

The Presidium of the Main Board of the Polish Composers' Union, at its meeting on the 6th of March, 2024, awarded this year's Honorary Award of the Polish Composers' Union for merits in the promotion of Polish contemporary music to Ewa Szczecińska - for persistent and competent activity promoting the works of Polish contemporary composers on Polish Radio. The "Nowa Polska" series, devoted to the youngest generation of Polish composers, deserves special mention.

Ewa Szczecińska studied musicology at the University of Warsaw. She hosts the programmes "Nowa Polska" and "Nocna Strefa" on the Programme 2 of the Polish Radio. She specializes in the latest music, but also devotes a lot of attention to the music of earlier eras, taking part in the programmes "Muzyczny Trybunał Dwójki" and "Płytomania". She publishes articles in "Ruch Muzyczny", "Tygodnik Powszechny", "Glissando" and in Internet portals.

She has created an archive of the latest Polish musical work, in all its diversity of aesthetic choices, techniques and styles, which is difficult to overestimate, and which is constantly being expanded.

The award ceremony is scheduled for the 67th International Festival of Contemporary Music "Warsaw Autumn" on the 25th of September 2024.

Congratulations!
