The Company, nominee for the 2015 Outstanding Emerging Artist Award, introduces new faces: Lidia Woś (choreography Who Let the Dogs Out; music by Marcin Brycki) and Robert Bondara (choreography Di di and go go to Singletrack by Paweł Szymański) in their U.S. choreographic debuts. Pola Nireńska, a legend in the Washington dance scene who passed away in 1991, is highlighted with the return to the stage of Dirge, part of her Holocaust Tetralogy. Past Pola Nireńska Award winner and Company E co-artistic director Paul Gordon Emerson premieres work Air set to the second movement of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki's Symphony of Sorrowful Songs No. 3, Op. 36. The composition (arranged for gospel choir by Gavin Stewart) will be performed by Washington Performing Art's Children of the Gospel Choir directed by Michele Fowlin.
