New composition by Adam Bałdych will be premiered by New Music Orchestra, Syrian vocalist Dima Orsho and the composer himself under the baton of Szymon Bywalec on December 18, 2016 at the Concert Hall of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice.
Apart from the new work Antiphona - 5 Syrian Psalms, composed for voice, violin and chamber orchestra, the artists will perform Midday Prayers (Tagesgebete) from "Life Without Christmas" by Gija Kanczeli and Vom Himmel hoch, da komm’ ich her BWV 769a by Johann Sebastian Bach (arr. by Sz. Bywalec).
The concert is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage ("Composing Commissions" programme implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance).
