The jubilee concert of the Choral Department, as part of the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the Academy of Music in Krakow, will take place on 8 April 2018 at 7.30 p.m. in the Jesuit Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Krakow (26 Copernicus St.).
The tradition of choral music occupies a significant place on the cultural map of Krakow. The Academy of Music in Krakow cherishes this tradition through the activity of the Choral Department, which students are preparing to lead choirs themselves.During their studies they also form a professional choir ensemble, facing the most ambitious and demanding vocal repertoire.
During the April concert the choirs of the Institute of Choral Conducting, Music Education and Rhythmics at the Academy of Music in Krakow and the State Choir of the F. Chopin Secondary Music School in Krakow will perform along with the Symphony Orchestra of this school and soloists-vocalists. The program of the concert will feature a cross-section of oratory works by Russian and German composers, as well as works by Henryk Jan Botor.
