Warsaw | Dariusz Przybylski: Percussion Works

UMFC

On October 24, 2018 at 7pm in the Concert Hall of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, there will be a concert promoting the album of the graduate and pedagogue of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, Dariusz Przybylski.

Composer's many years of friendship with drummer Leszek Lorent resulted in one of the most interesting CD albums of recent years. Dariusz Przybylski. Percussion Works is a record that combines classical and sonoristic sound, wildness and shamanism with sophisticated references to great literature.

"Percussion is for me an unlimited treasury of sounds, colors and ways of musical expression. The language of this instrument, based on the rhythm, directly refers to ancient times and archaizes the musical work in a natural way" –  says Dariusz Przybylski.

The album contains five percussion works, including the composition for two percussions Rituals, Subcontrast for percussion and tape, ... the rest is silence ... for percussion and piano duet, and Nekyia for three percussion instruments and a trombone quartet. The pieces will be performed by drummers Leszek Lorent, Rafał Kozyra and Tamara Kurkiewicz, pianists Aleksander Dębicz and Andrzej Karałow, as well as the Instrumental Ensemble conducted by Dawid Runtz.

For all concerts from the cycle "Wednesday on Okólnik Street" tickets for PLN 15 can be purchased at the earliest two weeks before the concert. The sale takes place at the Chopin University Press in the main university hall from Monday to Wednesday and on Fridays from 4 to 7pm, and through the website www.umfc.bilety24.pl
