Warsaw | National scientific conference "Outstanding Polish Conductors": Henryk Czyż

The Department of Composition, Conducting and Theory of Music as well as the Chair of Symphony and Opera Conducting at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music invite you to participate in the third edition of the national conference from the series "Outstanding Polish Conductors", which will take place on October 22, 2018 in the New Hall of the UMFC Senate.

The conference will be devoted to the life and career of Professor Henryk Czyż. The aim of the conference is to show the rich, multi-faceted activity of a professor, a long-time pedagogue at the Warsaw university. In a wide range of issues one will find his work as a conductor, composer, pedagogue, music popularizer, and writer.

The papers will be delivered by prof. dr hab. Krystyna Juszyńska, dr hab. Maja Metelska, dr Iwona Świdnicka, dr Jarosław Praszczałek, and dr Rafał Janiak. The conference will be also an occasion to watch fragments of Henryk Czyż's television programs "Nie taki diabeł straszny" from TVP archives and hear such works as Jazz etude for string quartet and Canzona di barocco arranged for string quintet.
