SuperSam

Maja Ratkje and Piotr Pawlak will perform during the next concert from the series "SuperSam + 1", which will take place on November 8, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. in the Warsaw club DZiK (44A Belwederska).

“Supersam + 1” is a series of master performances. The project focuses mainly on music, however, it also includes other forms of expression such as: performance, multimedia, monodrama. “Supersam + 1” will present respected Polish and foreign artists whose work is original, experimental and innovative.

Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje was born in 1973 in Trondheim, Norway. She is a composer and performer. She finished composition studies at the Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo in 2000. Ratkje is active as a singer/voice user and electronics performer and engineer, as a soloist or in groups such as SPUNK and BRAK RUG. Ratkje has performed her own music for films, dance and theatre, installations, and numerous other projects. Visual art or text material is often a part of her own work, in installations or staged works. She has made large gallery works with SPUNK, she has made music for a radio play by Elfriede Jelinek, and in 2003, she played a part in her own opera, based on the texts from the Nag Hammadi Library..

Piotr Pawlak is a guitarist and producer associated with the music stage of Tricity. He made his debut at the end of the 80’s in a band called Bielizna. He co-created the band Kury and their legendary album “P.O.L.O.V.I.R.U.S.” with Tymon Tymański and Jacek Olter. He cooperated with Mazzoll in Arhythmic Memory. He played in Łoskot band since 1996. He cooperates with Olo Walicki in the project Kaszëbë II and Antoni Gralak in YeShe. He composed music for theatre, film, ballet and multimedia shows. He produced several dozen albums of various artists such as Ścianka, Kury, Łoskot, Kobiety, Tymon & Transistors, Pink Freud, Oczi Cziorne. He currently plays in reactivated Łoskot band and in Rito band with whom he recorded an album that combines noise, trance and ritual music.
