BMW Art Club

On December 9, 2018 at 7.00 p.m., Teatr-Wielki - Polish National Opera will host a concert of the BMW Art Club 2018 project. Compositions by Penderecki, Lutosławski, Górecki and Panufnik will be presented with closely synchronised visualisations by Witek Orski.

The digital revolution has made possible the images presented in the media to create an alternative world and change our perception of reality. The BMW Art Club project comments on this phenomenon, showing the fascinating process of creating a parallel reality. Digital image processing tools, glitches, or shifts become a source of inpiration and reflection on the nature of the world around us for Witek Orski .

The concert programme is a kaleidoscope of works by the most important Polish contemporary composers: Krzysztof Penderecki (Concerto for horn and orchestra "Winterreise", Concertino for trumpet and orchestra), Witold Lutosławski (Mi-parti for orchestra), Henryk Mikołaj Górecki (Concerto for harpsichord and string orchestra, Three dances for orchestra) and Andrzej Panufnik (Lullaby for string orchestra and two harps).

Performers: Gábor Boldoczki – trumpet, Piotr Orzechowski ‘Pianohooligan’ – harpsichord, Krzysztof Tomczyk – horn, Witek Orski – video art, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) under Alexander Humala.
