Wrocław | Repercussion

RepercussionA concert of the Repercussion ensemble, featuring the world premieres of works by its members, will take place on January 24, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the National Forum of Music.

Repercussion, percussion ensemble, is a leading promoter of composition for percussion instruments in Wrocław. Jacek Muzioł, Bartłomiej Dudek, Radosław Jędraś, and Miłosz Rutkowski are graduates of the percussion department of the Wrocław Academy of Music and are an active part of musical life in Poland as performers and pedagogues. The group has performed during the Crossdrumming Festival in Warsaw, the International Percussion Forum, in Żagań, and DRUM BATTLE Rhythm Festival, in Legnica. The ensemble also has a passion for presenting educational activities for children and young people.

The evening's programme will feature two compositions by ensemble members, Bartłomiej Dudek and Miłosz Rutkowski, representing percussion music from Peru and Asia, as well as music composed by Dariusz Kaliszuk, who currently serves as a lecturer in the Jazz Department at the Academy of Music in Wrocław. Due to the nature and age of percussion instruments, the ensembles’ repertoire ranges from classical to ethnic and incorporates jazz, contemporary, and even indie styles. The carefully selected programme allows listeners to become acquainted with all the capabilities percussion instruments offer. These concerts are not only great fun for percussion enthusiasts, but also serve as an unparalleled experience for novices and budding music students.
