Kregi Sztuki

Third edition of the “Festival Polish Circles of Art in China” will end with two concerts in Warsaw and Gdańsk.

On January 23, 2019 at the Concert Studio S1 of Polish Radio in Warsaw we will listen to the Circles of Art Orchestra. The project has been created by the director of the Polish Circles of Art Festival Wojciech Majewski. He invited the composer, leader and visionary of Polish jazz – Wojciech Konikiewicz to collect a super band of Polish Jazz. The concerts in China were the premiere of this project, to which the leader invited the Polish jazz elite.

On January 25, 2019 at the European Solidarity Centre in Gdańsk, Grzegorz Niemczuk will perform works by Fryderyk ChopinWojciech Kilar, and Ignacy Jan Paderewski. The artist belongs to the most active Polish classical pianists of the young generation. He has traveled the world and given more than 400 recitals and concerts in 31 different countries on all 6 continents. Admired for his sensitivity, poetry, beautiful sound and passionate virtuosity he became a favorite with audiences and critics alike. His interpretations of Chopin’s music were placed in 2017 by the National Polish Radio together with those by Martha Argerich, Maurizio Pollini and Adam Harasiewicz.

The special guest of both concerts will be Anna Krysztofiak – an artist of Lodz Philharmonic, singer and multi-instrumentalist playing early European instruments (organ and early keyboards, viola da gamba, folk instruments) as well as many traditional Chinese and Japanese instruments. She received her Master’s degree in history of art (master’s thesis about organ building). She participated in internship in the Manufacture d’Orgue de Bruxelles (Patrick Collon) in Brussels. In 2013, she was granted a scholarship by Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to study at the Taipei National University of the Arts in Prof. Po-Chi Lin Nanguan Music Class, Traditional Music Department.
