The first edition of the cycle "Resound. New Polish music" will end with the premiere of two concertos for solo instruments and orchestra composed by Paweł Mykietyn and Aleksander Kościów. The cycle "Resound. New Polish music", organized by the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, has become a platform for the presentation of the latest works by leading Polish composers in confrontation with the 20th-century tradition. The finale of the first edition presents two different perspectives on the form of a concerto for a solo instrument accompanied by a symphony orchestra.

Concerto for cello and orchestra No. 2 by Paweł Mykietyn, featuring cellist Marcin Zdunik as a soloist, will begin the evening. Then Klaudiusz Baran, an extremely valued and versatile accordionist, rector of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, will perform the solo part in Aleksander Kościów's Concerto for accordion and orchestra. The works were commissioned as part of the "Composing Commissions" programme implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance. The concert will end with the Suite from the ballet The Fire Birdby one of the classics of the last century, Igor Stravinsky

A meeting with Paweł Mykietyn and Aleksander Kościów, conducted by Jan Topolski, will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the foyer of the Polish Radio Concert Studio.
