On 23-24 September 2019, the Academy of Music in Łódź will host the International Symposium for Wind Instruments. The event dedictaed to the art of orchestral parts performance will feature lectures, presentations, master classes and public concerts with the participation of specialists from Germany and Poland.
The concerts will include transcriptions and original works written for tuba, natural horns, flugelhorns and piccolo trumpets. On the first evening, the artists will present baroque, classical and contemporary music for trumpet and horns, including Musica Festiva II for brass trio by contemporary composer from Łódź, Olga Hans. The second evening will be dominated by music for tuba and trombone, featuring compositions and arrangements by Øystein Baadsvik, Gary A. Buttery, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Launa Grøndahl, Stjepan Šulek and Erik Ewazen.
In addition, on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the participants will have a chance to take part in public presentations and exhibitions of musical instruments and publications.
