NeoQuartet: Contemporary Cultural Cooperations

NeoQuartet

"Contemporary Cultural Cooperations" is a project of the Tri-City NeoQuartet ensemble inspired by the 100th anniversary of Poland establishing diplomatic relations with Latvia, Great Britain and Finland. In these countries, from 19 September to 5 December 2019, there will be a series of concerts with the participation of the Polish quartet and foreign artists.

The Polish ensemble specializing in contemporary music performance invited to cooperation Helsinki Chamber Choir, British composer and performer Alwynne Pritchard and Latvian visual artist Daša Ludski. Each concert is a separate project, the result of mutual inspiration from NeoQuartet and foreign artists.

The idea of the project directly relates to the establishment of Poland's diplomatic relations with various countries after regaining independence. Similarly, Polish artists establish contacts and create joint events with artists from Latvia, Finland and Great Britain. Each concert will present both Polish artistic achievements and the achievements of the country in which the event takes place.

Thanks to the wide spectrum of the artistic programme, during a series of concerts, NeoQuartet will present contemporary Polish culture in a variety of forms, ranging from the classical combination of an acoustic quartet with a chamber choir, through the cooperation of an electric quartet with visual artists, to a 45-minute performance with the British artist Alwynne Pritchard. The repertoir will include Expansions for electric string quartet by Jerzy Kornowicz, Owen was her? by Piotr Peszat, String Quartet No. 6 by Aleksander Kościów as well as the world premiere of Dessin by Artur Kroschel. The concert in London will feature an audiovisual performance with theater elements and musical layer inspired by Polish musical avant-garde of the last century, including works by Witold Lutosławski, Krzysztof Penderecki and Paweł Szymański.
