8th International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra 2020 online

ILYOThe eighth edition of the International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra will be held online on 2-12 August 2020. This year, we will not meet at the Golden Hall of the Szczecin Philharmonic, but we will visit participants of the project at their homes! The recruitment process will last until 28 June. 

Ahead of musicians who will be part of this year's International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra are two weeks of intensive work. They will take part in live sessions with tutors, online workshops on Alexander Technique and they will learn how to make professional audio-video recording. The result of the project will ba a joint performance of one of the movements of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 – to commemorate the 250th brith anniversary of this great composer, as well as selected chamber works by Witold Lutosławski, patron of the project, and Béla Bartók, one of the greatest composers from the Visegrad Group countries. Grand Finale will take place on 28-30 August.

The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
