Bydgoszcz | Cello as the lead instrument

FPA phenomenal Polish cellist Marcin Zdunik will perform on 12 March 2021 at 7.00 at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz.

Mieczysław Weinberg, a composer of Jewish origin, was born in pre-war Warsaw and died in Moscow. Hence, his work was influenced by three different cultures that built the composer's artistic identity. Weinberg's compositions are more and more often included in concert programmes in Poland. Marcin Zdunik will perform his three-movement Fantasy for cello and orchestra, Op. 52, created in the years 1951-1953.

This evening, the Pomeranian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Michał Klauza will also present the overture to Monbar, or the Flibustiers – the first and only completed opera by Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński, which shows influences by the great French opera. The concert will end with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's last symphony, "Jupiter", which remains one of the composer's most famous works.
