Warsaw | Concert of Laureates of Kazimierz Serocki 17th International Composers' Competition

PTMWConcert of the laureates of the Kazimierz Serocki 17th International Composers' Competition, organised by the Polish Society for Contemporary Music, will be held on 6 November 2021 at 7.00 p.m. at the Władysław Szpilman Concert Studio in Warsaw.

This year, 112 scores from all over the world were submitted to the Competition. The jury was composed of: Paul Patterson (Great Britain), Paweł Łukaszewski and Dariusz Przybylski (Poland). The winners are composers from South Korea, Italy and the Czech Republic. The Honorary Patron of the Competiion is the Polish Composers' Union.

The final concert of the Competition will include The Puppet by the Czech composer Jan Holý (3rd Prize), Imis by the Italian composer Massima Lauricelli (2nd Prize) and Lux ​​mundi by Sungja Hong – a composer from South Korea, who won the 1st Prize. The concert will be opened by the work of the Competition Patron – Kazimierz Serocki's A piacere. Among performers will be outstanding interpreters of contemporary music: Hashtag Ensemble and Kwintofonia.

The awards were funded by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sports. Sungji Hong received a special prize in the form of a publication by PWM Edition for the youngest laureate of the Competition. The partner of the event was the ZAiKS Authors' Association.
