Warsaw | International Conference "Ineffabilis. Marcin Błażewicz – inspirations "

UMFCThe New Music College and the Anthropology of Music Culture Studio at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music invite you to the International Conference “Ineffabilis. Marcin Błażewicz – inspirations ”, combined with an educational exhibition, discussions and a concert to be held at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music on 3-4 November 2021.

The conference is devoted to the work of the outstanding Polish composer Marcin Błażewicz – laureate of the ZAiKS' 100th Anniversary Award, thinker, professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, who unexpectedly passed away on 5 April 2021. The event is a kind of tribute that scientific and artistic circles want to pay to this wonderful artist. The conference debates will discuss the broadest possible context of Błażewicz's work, seen through the prism of not only musical art, but also philosophy and aesthetics.

The event will be inaugurated with a concert on 3 November at 7.00 p.m. at the FCUM Concert Hall entitled "Ineffabilis. Marcin Błażewicz – inspirations". The concert will feature works by Marcin Błażewicz and Modest Mussorgski performed by Leszek Lorent – the scientific director of the conference, Rafał Grozdew, Ewa Pelwecka, Iwo Jedynecki, Karolina Mikołajczyk, Dariusz Przybylski and Jan Gralla.

The conference proceedings at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Senate Hall on 4 November (12.00–6.00 p.m.) will feature: Dr Miłosz Bembinow, Prof. Sharon Kanach, Dr hab. Krzysztof Lipka, Prof. dr hab. Zbigniew Kozub, Dr hab. Katarzyna Szymańska-Stułka, Prof. Marta Klimasara, Prof. Dr Łukasz Długosz, Dr hab. Agata Kielar-Długosz, Prof. Michael Schelle, Dr hab. Łukasz Borowicz, Dr hab. Iwona Lindstedt, Dr hab. Leszek Lorent.

The conference will be accompanied by Grażyna Maria Grobelna's exhibition entitled "Marcin Błażewicz and his vision of music" (foyer of the Concert Hall).
