Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC
Willa Lentza in Poland, Villa la Padula in Italy and Escola Artística Do Conservatório De Música Calouste Gulbenkian (Portugal) announce the 3rd International Composition Competition SAX and VILLAS 2024. Its subject is the creation of new compositions for chamber ensembles with the participation of the saxophone. The competition is open to composers from all countries of the world under the age of 35. The deadline for submitting applications is the 31st of March, 2024.
The competition aims to enrich chamber music literature and covers works for the following instrumental ensembles to choose from:
- Trio consisting of: two saxophones (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone in any configuration) and a piano
- Saxophone (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone to choose from) duo with piano
- Chamber saxophone orchestra of 8 to 12 saxophones (e.g. Snino or soprano, SSAAATTTBBBs).
The duration of the composition is 10 to 12 minutes.
