Meccore String Quartet tours the USA

Meccore String QuartetMeccore String Quartet returns to North America for its 3rd tour. The ensemble will give 5 concerts between March 4 and 13, 2016.

The artists will visit California (San Diego, Irvine), Alabama (Mobile), Florida (Palm Beach) and Idaho (Boise), where they will perform compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven, Joseph Haydn, György Ligeti, Jean Sibelius and Karol Szymanowski. Additionally, they will also give masterclasses and sit on the jury of the Boise Chamber Music Series Young Artist String Quartet Competition.

The concert tour is co-financed by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.

"Mosaic – Impressions – Poland" in Berlin

Mozaika - Impresje - Polska Concert Mosaic-Impressions-Poland, performed by artists from Poland (Baltic Neopolis Orchestra) and Germany (Deutsche Oper) with violinist Adam Bałdych and winners of the 1st International Beethoven Chamber Music Competition in Lusławice, will be held on March 24, 2016 at Radialsystem V in Berlin.

The artists will present works by Polish composers (Grażyna Bacewicz, Krzysztof Penderecki, Andrzej Panufnik, Wojciech Kilar, Paweł Łukaszewski), as well as a premiere performance of Adam Bałdych’s Mosaic - Impressions for string orchestra, violin, piano, double bass and percussion, which was commissioned by the Baltic Neopolis Orchstra ("Composing Commissions" programme, implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance).

The concert is held under the patronage of Krzysztof Penderecki and Jerzy Margański (Ambassador of Poland to Germany) and organized in cooperation with the International Beethoven Association, Institute of Music and Dance, Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music and Polish Music European Forum.

Tadeusz WieleckiConcert entitled Contempo: Focus on Europe will be held on February 29, 2016 at Performance Hall, Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts in Chicago.

Contempo (The University of Chicago Contemporary Chamber Players) looks across the ocean to today’s leading European composers, creating a compelling program that features award-winning compositions and stunning soprano lines. The electric Agata Zubel, making a return to Contempo, and Tadeusz Wielecki, director of Warsaw Autumn Festival, perform in their own works.

Music Theatre Now

Music Theatere NowInternational Festival Operadagen Rotterdam, scheduled for May 20-29, 2016 in the Netherlands, will host a competition and a meeting Music Theatre Now dedicated to worldwide exchange in new opera and music theatre.

All 18 selected productions of the MTN 2015 competition will be presented through video lectures and live performances. The main goal of the event is to promote exchange among artists and presenters of opera and music theatre.
