The Artistic Education Center in Warsaw announces the 3rd Elżbieta Chojnacka Harpsichord Competition, which will take place at the Fryderyk Chopin Music School in Bytom on May 16-17, 2024. The competition is intended for students of primary and secondary music schools. The deadline for submitting applications is the 30th of April.

The originator of the competition is Dr. Aleksandra Gajecka-Antosiewicz - the heir of Elżbieta Chojnacka, a recognized Polish harpsichordist. The competition's programme formula presents harpsichord literature in two trends: old (the obligatory piece by J. S. Bach) and new. The primary goal of the project is to popularize the performance of harpsichord music of the 20th and 21st centuries, including works by Polish composers (mandatory repertoire), and instruments - historical and contemporary.

The competition will certainly awaken passion for performing new music. It will be accompanied by lectures and meetings between students and teachers.

The competition jury includes recognized Polish harpsichordists and composers.
