Music lovers gathered in the Silesian Philharmonic on 29 November 2019 at 7 p.m. will witness an extraordinary event –  the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and Choir under the baton of Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk will perform Henryk Mikołaj Górecki's oratorio Sanctus Adalbertus, Op. 71.

The concert will begin with Krzysztof Meyer's Piano Concerto, Op. 46 performed by Piotr Sałajczyk, considered by critics to be among the most outstanding Polish performers of his generation, winner of the "Fryderyk" phonographic award and the "Orpheus" award "for outstanding performances of Polish music". Then we will listen to Sanctus Adalbertus with solo parts performed by world-class soloists, Ewa Tracz and Stanislav Kuflyu. The oratorio was written in 1997 to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the death of Saint. Adalbert. It was to be performed during the John Paul II pilgrimage to Poland, but, unfortunately, due to the composer's illness, the prformance did not take place. The oratorio was found by Mikołaj Górecki and in 2015, five years after the death of its creator, Sanctus Adalbertus was performed for the first time.

The CD with the work by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki will be released later this year. The project is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund under the "Musical trace" programme implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance.

The Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic is preparing a special concert for fans of Polish film music on 29 November 2019 at 7 p.m.

The programma will consist of a combination of film music themes by Polish composers, among others from the movies such as The Pianist, Pan Tadeusz, Finding Neverland, Pharaoh, Fire and Sword, Nights and Days, Vabank, as well as – for all amateurs of the PRL – immortal tv series such as Janosik, Alternatives 4, Wanted – Him or Her, More Than Life at Stake, A Forty-year-old, Wojna Domowa, How I Unleashed World War II .The Symphony Orchestra of the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic will present works by Wojciech Kilar, Jan A.P. Kaczmarek, Krzesimir Dębski, Michał Lorenc, Adam Sławiński, Adam Walaciński, Krzysztof Komeda, Bronisław Kaper, Waldemar Kazanecki and Jerzy Matuszkiewicz. All these works will be presented in the interesting jazz arrangements prepared by Krzysztof Herdzin, who will lead the whole concert.

First performances, youthful compositions and interpretations, the canon of 20th-century music, lecture and film projection – these are the elements of the programme of the 75th "Musica Moderna" session at the Academy of Music in Łódź (29 November – 5 December 2019). Traditionally, the concerts will feature present students of the Academy – composers and instrumentalists. The event's partner is the Polish Composers' Union.

The inaugural concert of the 75th "Musica Moderna" session will take place on 29 November at 7 p.m., presenting works by 1st and 2nd prize winners of the 6th Grażyna Bacewicz International Composers' Competition: The Landscape for orchestra by Satoshi Ohmae (Japan), and Earthise by Nicholas Gotch (Great Britain). The Artur Rubinstein Łódź Philharmonic Orchestra will be led by Paweł Przytocki.

The guests of this year's session will be: pianist Martyna Zakrzewska (Kraków), Symphony Orchestra of the Music Academy in Gdańsk under the baton of Maciej Tomasiewicz and Prof. Gordon Williamson (Hannover). Martyna Zakrzewska's recital entitled "Still piano?" is a compilation of works in which the pianist plays the piano, but also sings, whistles, whispers, screams, hits or knocks, plays percussion instruments, constructs new instruments, cuts aluminum foil into small scraps ... The pianist will present, among others compositions by Michał Lazar and Piotr Peszat. Composer Gordon Williamson (Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hanover) will present and discuss the work Encounters for two Inuit throat singers, accordion and the ensemble Neue Vocalsolisten. The composition is the result of his research on the Inuit community – the indigenous people of northern Canada. In addition, his composition breathing room will be presented during the 'Young Composers. Young performers" concert. The session will end with a concert presenting stylisticly diverse compositions by Polish authors.

Chamber music works for wind instruments plus strings, piano and voice in a wealth of musical contexts and masterful performances. This is the idea behind the Warsaw Winds + Festival – a new event on the cultural map of Warsaw that will take place from 28 November to 1 December 2019.

This musical venture will change the perception of wind instruments among a wide audience. Everyone will find something for themselves in the festival program – from the popular songs of Stanisław Moniuszko in new arrangements, through the classical repertoire for string quartet and wind quintet, the premiere works of young generation composers – Mikołaj Majkusiak and Paweł Pudło, to improvisations on early music themes by Bastarda Trio.

For the initiators of the Warsaw Winds + Festival – the Warsaw sextet Gruppo di Tempera – chamber music is not only the most important career path, but also the greatest passion. Their goal is to present chamber music at the highest world level, which they have made one of the festival's leitmotifs. This idea connects all this year's artists, including: Bastarda Trio, Lutosławski Quartet, the mentioned sextet Gruppo di Tempera, as well as singers Urszula Kryger and Szymon Komasa. The Festival will feature Polish music – classical and contemporary, popular and less known, juxtaposed with works from the world canon.

The "Forum.Lutosławski" festival – an event organized as part of the "Regional Initiative of Excellence" project led by the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz – will take place on 26 November and 1 December 2019. The Forum will consist of meetings, discussions, workshops and concerts introducing the work of Witold Lutosławski – one of the greatest Polish composers of the 20th century.

The "Forum.Lutosławski" will include a three-day conference Musical works of the past and present, featuring lectures on compositions created in the 20th and 21st century. There will also be master classes with the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music professors, Jadwiga Rappe and Andrzej Bauer, devoted to the issues of performing the 20th-century repertoire, with particular emphasis on the work of the Forum's patron. A seminar on composition, with the participation of Dobrinka Tabakova, Joe Cutler, Ewa Pobłocka and Dariusz Przybylski, will take place on 28 and 29 November at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. The seminar will end with a discussion panel dedicated to the patron of the Forum. On 30 November, Katarzyna Naliwajek-Mazurek will lead a discussion devoted to direct relations between artists and the composer and his work, with the participation of Zbigniew Bargielski, Wojciech Michniewski and Andrzej Bauer.

The concerts on 26 and 27 November will feature works by Zbigniew Bargielski, Łukasz Godyla, Michał Dobrzyński, Marcin Gumiela, Bettina Skrzypczak, Hanna Kulenty and Franciszek Woźniak. The final concert will take place on 1 December at the Pomeranian Philharmonic Concert Hall. The Academic Choir and Symphony Orchestra of the Music Academy in Bydgoszcz under the baton of Michał Dworzyński will perform the Coronation Mass in C major, KV 317 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Concerto for cello and orchestra by Witold Lutosławski, with the solo part performed by Andrzej Bauer.
