6th "Emanations" International Music Festival

Emanacje

On Saturday, 7th July 2018, the sixth edition of the "Emanations" International Music Festival will begin at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Center in Lusławice. The event will last until 9th September, and ten festival weeks will be filled with 40 diverse concerts in the Małopolska and Podkarpacie regions.

The festival will be inaugurated by a concert of an Argentinian pianist, second prize winner at the 14th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2000) – Ingrid Fliter. The artist is known for her excellent interpretations of the works of the Polish composer and her album "Preludes" was included in the list of the top 10 Chopin recordings of all time according to the Gramophone magazine. In Lusławice, we will hear the author's choice of nocturnes, and the recital will be preceded by the first ever performance of the Penderecki Piano Trio chamber ensemble, which includes musicians of the phenomenal Meccore String Quartet.

This will not be the only stage debut during this year's "Emanations". In 2018, we celebrate the 85th birthday of the outstanding Polish artist and patron of the Lusławice Center – Krzysztof Penderecki. The Penderecki Piano Trio, not coincidentally, was brought to life in the Master's jubilee year – soon, a new chamber piece will be written especially for the ensemble. For the second debut, we will have to wait until 31th August, when a new master's education project prepared by the Lusławice Center – Penderecki Youth Orchestra – a string orchestra composed of titled young Polish instrumentalists  and conducted by an outstanding director of the AUKSO chamber orchestra – Marek Moś.

2018 is also the year in which we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence. Hence, Polish music will play a significant role in festival concert programs. We will hear, among others, premiere of a new work by Miłosz Bembinow, a recital by Szymon Komasa "Polish Songs", as well as compositions by Fryderyk Chopin (among others, performed by "wonderful children" of world pianism – charges of the foundation of the famous Chinese pianist – Lang Lang). "Emanations" will end with a September cycle of concerts carried out in cooperation with the Warsaw festival "Chopin and his Europe".

Beethoven Pastoral Project

BTHVN

In 2020 the world will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). The official BTHVN2020 anniversary program will be held under the patronage of Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany. One of the anniversary projects is the "Beethoven Pastoral Project".

Beethoven was born in Bonn, which today is not only the City of Beethoven, but also a UN city and seat of the UN's Climate Change Secretariat. Beethoven loved nature. For him it was a place of relaxation, solitude and inspiration. His Sixth Symphony, the 'Pastoral', musically depicts the harmonious unity between mankind and nature. Today, nature is under threat and mankind is on a course to destroy his environment and livelihood.

The "Beethoven Pastoral Project" aims to draw attention to the theme of ‘mankind and nature’, represented in the romantic sense in the ‘Pastoral’ music, and to deal actively with today’s urgent questions of environmental protection and global sustainability, and achieving the aims of the Paris Climate Agreement.

Artists from around the world are invited to develop and unite their own visions of a harmonious co-existence of mankind and nature, with performances of 'their Pastoral' on Earth Day (April 22nd, 2020), United Nations World Environment Day (June 5th, 2020) or a day of their choice before June 5th, 2020 – to shape a powerful statement for environmental protection and sustainable development – for a better world for millions of people.
