„Collegium Cantorum” is a 24-person professional, mixed choir of the Philharmonic of Częstochowa, Poland.

Besides performing numerous a cappella programs, the choir also carries out vocal-instrumental forms, either within the original or extended line-up. Many times it has taken part in performances of oratorian-cantata compositions, for example with:
• the Philharmonic of Częstochowa Orchestra,
• the “Leopoldinum” Chamber Orchestra of Wrocław,
• the National Symphonic Orchestra of the Polish Radio,
• the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra (USA),
• the “Capella Cracoviensis” Orchestra,
• the “Accademia dell`a Arcadia” Orchestra.

At the beginning (1987) the choir, that was born from Janusz Siadlak`s idea, worked under the patronage of local higher education institutions; first- the College of Pedagogics, and then - the Technical University of Częstochowa. The group was turned into a professional choir thanks to Mr. Siadlak`s desire to create the highest quality choral singing, and his experience gained in “Collegium Cantorum” and in “Śląsk” - a group of dance and song, where he managed a choir for six years. From 2008 to 2011 the group existed as a project choir co-financed by the Local Government of the Częstochowa city. From September 2012 Collegium Cantorum is an artistic group of the Philharmonic of Czętochowa.

The group has performed many premieres of compositions by Polish composers (A. Koszewski, W. Łukaszewski, J. Łuciuk, R. Maciejewski, M. Bembinow, E. Bogusławski, M. Borkowski, M. Jasiński, St. Moryt). Misa por la paz y la Justicia by Ariel Ramirez was first presented in Poland just by “Collegium Cantorum”. During the choir`s tour in Argentina, the conductor of the choir received the score of this composition from the composer.

Choir „Collegium Cantorum” has successfully performed in many cities in Poland and also abroad in: Austria, Belgium, Belarus, France, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Norway, Hungary, Great Britain, Italy; and outside Europe: Argentina, Uruguay, China, and twice in the USA.

The group organizes many musical projects, including the Musical Festival of the Bach Family.
