Warsaw | 22nd Music Gardens Festival 2022 'Sing the Gardens'

polmicThe 22nd Music Gardens Festival 2022 Sing the Gardens will take place on July 1–31, 2022. This year's festival refers to the novel by Paweł Huelle, in which music plays an important role, especially the mysterious opera by Richard Wagner.

The opening concert (on the 1st of July at 6:30 p.m.) will take the participants into the world of famous arias by Stanisław Moniuszko, Charles Gounod, fragments from operas by Zygmunt Noskowski and Władysław Żeleński. The freshness brought by young  performers (Magdalena Stefaniak, Szymon Mechliński, Aleksander Teliga) - laureates of the Bogdan Paprocki National Competition in Bydgoszcz and the Warsaw Sinfonia Viva string orchestra conducted by Tomasz Radziwonowicz, will certainly be an excellent introduction to the further events of the 'Music Gardens'.

This year exceptionally, concerts will take place at the Sinfonia Varsovia Concert Pavilion in the Grochowska 272 street in Warsaw. The concert of the piano duo Fiona and Chiara Alaimo (on the 20th of July) will be organized in the ballroom of the Royal Castle in Warsaw.

Opole | Final concert of the 70th anniversary of Opole Philharmonic

Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC

POLMICThe last concert of the 70th artistic season of the Opole Philharmonic on the 26th of June, 2022 at 6.00 p.m. will be inaugurated by the premiere of the Jubilee Overture, commissioned from Aleksander Kościów to celebrate the Philharmonic's jubilee.

That evening, the Opole Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Przemysław Neumann will present foremostly Polish music.

The writer and composer Aleksander Kościów comes from Opole. Since 2016 he has been the vice-rector for student affairs and teaching at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. His novels are sometimes referred to as Polish magical realism.

We will hear two fantasies on opera themes. First by Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński, who, a year after completing his only opera Monbar, returned to its motifs and weaved his original brilliant fantasy out of them. Music from Charles Gounod's Faust inspired Henryk Wieniawski, who created his Fantasy on themes from this opera.

The solo part in these pieces will be performed by Janusz Wawrowski.
