The 5th Festival of the Polish Royal Opera will be filled with dozens of hours of Polish music. On stage of the Royal Theater between the 2nd and 24th of July, 2022 soloists, the Vocal Ensemble and Orchestra, and the period instruments ensemble of the Polish Royal Opera will perform.
The Festival will include twelve artistic events - performances and concerts. During the ceremonial inauguration, on the 2nd of July, the premiere of Zygmunt Krauze's The Night of Ravens directed by Waldemar Raźniak, commissioned by the Polish Royal Opera, will take place.
The libretto for this one-act opera was prepared by Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk based on Ballades and Romance and Dziady by Adam Mickiewicz. The audience will have the opportunity to confront two musical interpretations of Mickiewicz's poetry: on the 14th of July, on the Old Orangery stage we will hear Stanisław Moniuszko's Widma cantata.
