The programme of the Cracow Accordion Concerts, held in October 2017, includes the 4th Concert of the Premieres of Accordion Pieces and the concerts of Young Accordionists Scene.
The existing and specially commissioned solo and chamber music for accordion will be performed as part of the 4th edition of the Concert of the Premieres of Accordion Pieces. Works by such composers as Zbigniew Bargielski, Bożena Boba-Dyga, Piotr Peszat, Szymon Strzelec, Rafał Wnuk and Maciej Zimka will be performed by Wiesław Ochwat, Maciej Zimka (accordions), Bożena Boba-Dyga (soprano, voice), Piotr Lato (clarinet), Aleksandra Lelek (cello) and Miłosz Mączyński (guitar).
The Young Accordionist Scene is a new project, which main goal is to promote accordion graduates of Polish academies. Concerts withis this series will be held on October 15 and 29 at 7 p.m. at the "Kontakt" Movement and Dance Space (40 Szpitalna Street, Cracow). This year we will hear solo recitals by Mateusz Dudek and Piotr Krzaczkowski – two award-winning graduates of the Cracow Academy of Music. The programme will include classical music transcriptions as awell as original solo accordion compositions of Maciej Zieliński, Wiesław Cienciała, Jacek Kopiec and Wiaczesław Siemionow.
Admission free. The concerts are co-funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage within the programme 'Collections', priority 'Composing Commissions' operated by the Institute of Music and Dance.
