We know the results of the 10th Zygmunt Mycielski Composition Competition. The subject of this year's edition, organized by the Youth Circle of the Polish Composers' Union, was a composition for sextet.

The jury, after hearing all the compositions submitted for the Competition, decided to award the following prizes:

1st prize (PLN 4000): Paweł Siek for Neoplast p II

2nd prize (PLN 2,500): Dominik Puk for Telemachos

3rd prize (PLN 1500): Viacheslav Kyrylov for Music of inequality.

Honorable mentions were awarded to Serhi Vilka for song You'll no longer be able to fall asleep, Krzysztof Ratajski for Agreements of the music table and Michał Lazar for blurred.

All the awarded compositions will be performed by Hashtag Ensemble at the Concert of Premieres on 27 September 2019 at 5 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music as part of the International Festival of Contemporary Music "Warsaw Autumn".

12th edition of the New Town Summer Festival will take place in Warsaw between 19 July – 4 August 2019.

This year's edition will start at the Dominican Monastery with a recital of excellent violinist Katarzyna Duda accompanimed by pianist Hanna Holeksa who will perform works by Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Karol Szymanowski and Henryk Wieniawski. The Sunday concert on 21 July at the St. Mary's Church will feature early music ensemble La Tempesta and foreign guests: cornetist Jeremy West and violinist Tomáš Kardoš, who will perform Mikołaj Zieleński's Communiones.

The second weekend of the Festival will be opened by Joanna Klisowska (soprano) and Katarzyna Neugebauer (piano) who will present nineteenth-century salon music: songs by Stanisław Moniuszko on his 200th birth anniversary and works by Karol Szymanowski and Ignacy Jan Paderewski. On 28 July, Italian pianist Leonora Armellini and Polish cellist Michał Zieliński will present works by Fryderyk Chopin. The last Friday of the Festival will be filled with music by Moniuszko and Chopin in an extremely interesting arrangement for glass harp and verrophone performed by the Wiener Glasharmonika Duo (Austria). In the finale, Warsaw Camerata under the baton of Paweł Kos-Nowicki and pianist Paweł Kowalski will perform Chopin's Concerto in E minor, Op. 11, and Haczewski's Sinfonia in D.

The Association of Polish Musicians invites for a concert entitled "Moniuszko and romantic miniature", which will take place on 27 July 2019 at 6:00 p.m. the Crown Tribunal in Lublin as part of the "Fonie Lublina" concert series.

The programme will feature Moniuszko's vocal miniatures arranged for double bass and piano as well as works of romantic and neo-romantic composers: Manuel de Falla, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Reinhold Glière and Giovanni Bottesini. The concert will be performed by the artists from Silesia: Mazanek Duo, composed of Łukasz Mazanek (double bass) and Michał Mazanek (piano). The event will be hosted by Karol Furtak.

The project is implemented thanks to the support of the City of Lublin. Krzysztof Żuk, the President of the City of Lublin, and Przemysław Czarnek, the Governor of Lublin, took the honorary patronage over the event. Admission to the concert is free.

A solemn concert "Musica Sacra" will take place on 27 July 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Jasna Góra, featuring works awarded at the 15th International Composers Competition Musica Sacra Nova.

The jury of the 15th International Composers Competition Musica Sacra Nova headed by Paweł Łukaszewski awarded the prizes in the composition for mixed choir category. The first prize went to Michał Malec from Poland for the composition O vos omnes, followed by Beata Juchniewicz from Lithuania for Lacrimosa and Jakub Szafrański from Poland for O vos omnes. The awarded works will be performed by the Polish Chamber Choir under the direction of Jan Łukaszewski. In the second part of the concert, the choir will perform two works by Paweł Łukaszewski: Anima Christi and Responsoria Tenebrae.

The organizer of the event is the Gaude Mater Community Association. The concert is held under the patronage of Archbishop Wacław Depo – metropolitan of Częstochowa, father Marian Waligóra – prior of the Jasna Góra monastery and Jakub Chełstowski – marshal of the Silesia province.

Admission to the concert is free.

The summer music scene at 272 Grochowska Street is in full swing! Chamber music concerts take place every Saturday and Sunday throughout July and August 2019 in the Concert Pavilion as part of the "Summer Concerts at Grochowska Street" series.

The repertoire of July Saturday concerts will help the audience to relax. On 20 July we will listen to the impressionist's works performed by violinist Maria Ołdak and harpist Malwina Lipiec-Rozmysłowicz, and on 27 July the Warsaw Accordion Duet with cellist Izabela Buchowska will present the music seasons: spring and summer by Astor Piazzolla, and autumn and winter by Antonio Vivaldi. Sunday concerts will be an opportunity to listen to the works from different parts of the world. Triumphal Brass Quintet and Reedbeat will perform in different configurations on 21 and 28 July. 

Afternoon "Summer Concerts at Grochowska Street" are part of the "Summer with Sinfonia Varsovia" season, which runs from May to September. Thematic chamber concerts, symphonic concerts of Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra, dance parties as welll as morning concerts for families and 'Smykofonie' series directed to the youngest listeners will be held for more than two months.
