Obchody stulecia niepodległości Polski to również dobra okazja do promocji współczesnej kultury i sztuki polskiej. Fundacja Pole do popisu i włoskie stowarzyszenie Associazione Culturale Anomalia ETS, idąc tym tropem, zorganizowały wspólnie koncert „_like a polish sunny day”. Wydarzenie współtworzy la Biblioteca Archivo CSSEO di Levico Terme, która specjalnie na tę okazję przygotuje prezentację dokumentacji zdjęciowej, tekstowej i filmowej, ilustrującą stuletnią historię wolnej Polski.

Koncert „_like a polish sunny day”, jak podkreślają organizatorzy, to wydarzenie interdyscyplinarne. Prezentuje bowiem nie tylko muzykę polskich kompozytorów XX i XXI wieku, ale ponadto w przystępny sposób przedstawia włoskiemu odbiorcy kontekst historyczny, tak przecież istotny dla powstania wielu utworów.

W programie koncertu będzie można usłyszeć kompozycje uznanych polskich twórców XX-wiecznych – Mieczysława Karłowicza i Grażyny Bacewicz, jak i współczesnych kompozytorów młodego pokolenia – Aleksandra Nowaka, Weroniki Ratusińskiej-Zamuszko oraz Anny Sowy.

Wykonawcami są Dorota Jasińska (skrzypce), Margherita Berlanda (akordeon), Nicolo Nigrelli (wiolonczela) oraz Anna Sowa (live electronics).

Utwór został zamówiony przez Klangforum Wien i Instytut Adama Mickiewicza. Agata Zubel za pomocą dźwięków stara się opisać zdjęcie – dramatyczną sytuację, uwiecznioną przez aparat fotograficzny. Jedynie analizując tę chwilę uwiecznioną w fotografii, autor może wyobrazić sobie możliwą historię osób na zdjęciu, i wydarzenia, które mogły doprowadzić do tego momentu, oraz skonfrontować to z naszą rzeczywistością i ponadczasowymi pytaniami egzystencjalnymi. Muzycy są również częścią obrazu. Zespół – około dwunastu instrumentalistów – gra rolę solistów, muzyków kameralnych lub aktorów. Wszystko to jest osadzone w elektronicznych dźwiękach pochodzących z głośników umieszczonych w pokoju. W pierwszej fazie utworu goście przechodzą, jeden po drugim, obok tych fragmentów „zamrożonego” czasu. Przejście przez muzycznie zaaranżowaną przestrzeń przypomina wędrówkę po obrazie; zapewnia słuchaczom bezpośredni kontakt z przedmiotami, postaciami, muzykami i aktorami. Słuchacze doświadczają własnego udziału w przedstawianej historii. Po tej starannie zaprojektowanej podróży może rozpocząć się kolejna faza, która ma już miejsce w klasycznej sytuacji między publicznością a sceną. Muzyka ożywa ... tak samo jak obraz.

Bildbeschreibung prawykona Klangforum Wien pod dyrekcją Titusa Engela. Główną partię wykona sama kompozytorka. Kolejne wykonania odbędą się 27 września na festiwalu „Warszawska Jesień” (polska premiera) i 29 września w wiedeńskim Konzerthaus.

On August 19, 2018 Agata Zubel received the European Composer's Award for her latest Fireworks composition, which premiered in Warsaw, Berlin and London.

The work for the great symphony orchestra was commissioned jointly by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute as part of the "Polska Music" and "Polska 100" programmes on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Poland's independence, and by EUYO – The European Union Youth Orchestra as part of the "2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage" programme.

The work premiered in Warsaw on August 13, 2018 during the "Chopin and his Europe" festival. The next day, the composition was performed at the Berlin Konzerthaus, and on August 19 it was presented at the Royal Albert Hall in London during the famous BBC Proms festival.

The Europäischer Komponistenpreis is an award set up by the mayor of Berlin for the most interesting festival premiere taking place in Germany or in the world. The Jury of the European Composers' Prize led by Manolis Vlitakis, composer and music theoretician, visiting professor at the University of the Arts, emphasized in the laudation: "Agata Zubel shows immense power of imagination and very high compositional level, and also reflects the current state of the art of composition. Not only with a perceptible passion, but also very skillfully able to unleash the 'demonic' powers of the symphony orchestra ".

The publisher of the composition is Polish Music Publishing House (PWM). Director and Editor-in-Chief of PWM Daniel Cichy collected the award on behalf of the composer.

nawyzowkinach.pl – distributor of opera, ballet and theater transmissions and rebroadcasts to cinemas – invites to the Turandot opera show by Giacomo Puccini in the famous staging of Franco Zeffirelli recorded on the stage of The Metropolitan Opera in New York. The monumental performance of Turandot on the grand screen of the Warsaw Cinema Praha can be seen on August 22, 2018 at 6.30 pm.

The Turandot staging prepared for Met by Franco Zeffirelli in 1987 has long been hailed as the showcase of the New York scene. The famous director of this staging also designed a truly fairy-tale set design that continually impresses the audience. The spectacular performance registered in 2016 will be repeated as part of the series "The Met: live in HD".

Puccini's score is full of great hits of opera music; everyone knows the famous Nessun dorma Kalafa's aria. However, the biggest requirements are set by the performer of the title role: Rosa Raisa, who was born as Róża Burchstein in Białystok, after the premiere performance apparently lost her voice. This is not a threat to Nina Stemme, who successfully performs great dramas on the biggest stages of the world. The part of Kalafa will be performed by Marco Berti, Liu will be Anita Hartig, who is in love with her, and Alexander Tsymbalyuk will perform the bass part of Timur. Conducts Paolo Carignani.

The 28th International Festival of Chamber and Organ Music will take place between August 19 – September 16, 2018 in the Vistula Ethnographic Park in Wygiełzów-Lipowiec, as well as in churches in Trzebinia, Jaworzno-Długoszyn, Chrzanów-Kościelec and Grójec near Alwernia.

The inaugural concert will be performed by the "Camerata Polonia" Chamber Orchestra, composed of musicians living in Austria under the direction of Marek Kudlicki. The event entitled "What's in my mind? Polish music" will be a part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of independence in Poland and will feature works by Henryk Wieniawski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Stanisław Moniuszko and Wojciech Kilar.

On August 26, MagDuś Duo will premiere Simbiosis for saxophone and piano by Przemysław Szczotka, composer of the young generation, participant of the project "Composition Commisions" implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance. On September 2, Messages Quartet will perform String Quartet in B flat major, Op. 67 by Johannes Brahms, as well as Stanisław Moniuszko's String Quartet No. 1 in D minor. On September 9, for the first time during the festival, we will hear the participants of the Opera Academy at the Grand Theater - National Opera in Warsaw: vocalists Agnieszka Grochala, Karolina Makuła and Paweł Trojak, and pianists Adam Rogala and Radosław Zaworski. The Le Nuove Musiche ensemble, composed of Polish and Slovak musicians specializing in historical performance, using original instruments, will participate in the final concert.

The festival's schedule will also include concerts held in nearby churches: in Jaworzno-Długoszyn we will hear prof. Władysław Szymański and an outstanding young trumpeter Piotr Nowak, in Chrzanów-Kościelec the music and poetry of Hildegarda from Bingen will be presented by Flores Rosarum, the Polish-Brazilian Harplino Duet will perform in the Church in Grójec, and in Trzebiania Trierini Liarman Trio will invite music lovers on a musical journey around Europe.
